Crisis
The Dane confirmed yesterday the slow economic growth with which 2024 started. Colombia’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP, advanced 0.7% in the first quarter of the year. The figure for the first three months was the lowest for a first quarter since the covid-19 pandemic.
Colombia is going through a time of economic uncertainty due to, among other things, the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to the Index of Economic Monitoring (ISE) of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), the economy contracted 0.3% in the third quarter of 2023 (July, August, September) and had a new drop of 0.4% in October.
Opportunity
Startco, the startup ‘auction’, which held its fifth edition in Bogota, was attended by 300 startups, more than 320 investors and 14,200 attendees, showcasing Colombia’s growing entrepreneurial spirit.
StartCo is one of the most important and largest entrepreneurship and innovation events in Latin America. This fifth version of the event will be held in Bogota for the second time from March 14 to 15 at Corferias to promote regional entrepreneurship and business growth.
